Welcome to Aaron's Plone Site
This site is a server-driven application that we can use to manage information and distributed activity.
Plone is a website content management tool. It's running this whole show. It has a built-in folder interface. To use it, you create objects such as folders, documents, images, and files. With documents, you can edit the content in your browser OR upload HTML. With images and files, you upload the content.
General Plone Notes
You can customize this frontpage by clicking the edit tab on this document if you have the correct permissions. Create folders and put content in those folders. Folders will show up in the navigation box if they are published.
When you edit a Plone document, you can do it in plain text in a form in your browser. It's simple, but there are some formatting options you can use; see Structured Text in Plone. You may also want to read Using Plone for an intro to how to add documents, and Creating Links as well.
See also the FAQ for this site.
For more information:
Plone is built on top of something called CMF (content management framework), which is built on top of an application server framework called Zope. Easy, eh? But if you want the details....
There are mailing lists and recipe websites available to provide assistance to you and your new-found Content Management System. Online chat is also a nice way of getting advice and help.
